Front page, totally unmissable. You can imagine the smiles on our faces when The Daily Star printed this article about our open dare to pelt BNP leader Nick Griffin with ethnic food.

The Daily Star also posted the story online, and we were also stoked to see stacks of online publications pick it up from all over the world, including this one on MSN India!

Looking forward to more bragster headlines…

adidas f50i challenge...

June 2nd, 2009

Bragster is pleased to announce the launch of a new partnership on the site, giving you guys yet another chance to win prizes, and take your bragging to another level of cool. We’ve teamed up with adidas, to celebrate the release of the new f50i boot , bringing you the f50i challenge.

Throughout 2009, we will be launching a range of dares and challenges, designed to showcase your skills on the pitch. We’ve got a team of pros helping us out, with teams led by Tottenham star Jermain Defoe , and Aston Villa’s Ashley Young .

So which team are you going to play for? There’s premium adidas merchandise, game tickets, adidas profile medals, and even a chance to meet up with the pros all up for grabs. So head to the campaign homepage to see how you can get involved!

A while back, we dared Tango to print their cans upside down (and slap a bragster logo on them) - and being the great people they are, they accepted our challenge!

Now that the new upside down cans are out in the shops, we thought we'd get back together with Tango and celebrate... by literally turning London on its head!

The bright orange swimwear-clad flashmob hit several landmarks around London with their inverted antics, including Millenium Bridge, St. Pauls Cathedral, Tate Modern, and London Bridge. Naturally this caused quite a stir in the press - you can read and see more over at The Sun and thelondonpaper

In other news this week, our marvelous tech team have just released a site update which includes even more new features we're pretty sure you bragsters are going to love:

Firstly, the search functionality has been massively improved - as well as showing many more results, you can now filter them to show only users/dares/brags/teams/groups, which should make it much easier to find that dare you wanted to enter, or the brag you wanted to link a friend to.

Also, "open dares" are now open... permanently! - We saw a lot of users wanting to enter dares that had already been closed, or not getting the recognition they deserved for clearly beating someone else's entry to a dare.

So, we decided to keep open dares, well, open! You can still choose a winner for an open dare you've created, but at the same time, the dare is never really over - other users can still add their entries, and if one of them is better... well, you can declare a new winner!

As always, let us know what you think on the feedback group, and keep bragging!

March 2009 saw the launch of an exciting campaign forged between Tango and bragster.com, a partnership that has just taken a very exciting turn. After a dare from the bragster team to “print their cans upside down, complete with a bragster logo”, it seems Tango have indeed come up with the goods. This week, production of 2.5 million specialty upside down cans began, due to hit stores throughout the UK by mid May.

The highly interactive campaign has also seen bragster users worldwide engaging in tango themed dares of all kinds, with the creation of new and exciting user generated content stemming directly from the partnership. The campaign is set to continue well into 2009, with the promise of more surprises from both the users, and the Tango/bragster team.

All the action has taken place at www.bragster.com/tango, the hub for the campaign.

Watch the guys head to the tango factory to see the very first cans produced!

We’re not sure if this guy is the world’s biggest CRANK fan, or if he simply was falling behind on his rent…but either way – we think he’s tops. Big kudos to Sh4rpy, who this week changed his name via deed poll to “Chev Chelios”, right here at bragster HQ. And what did he get in return? Well apart from loads of free merch, and a photoshoot with two bikini girls – he scored a whopping $1000 USD (or 700 quid for those of you in these parts). Check the video out below, and while you’re there – check out the CRANK 2 group – where there are a stack more prizes to be won.

Sh4rpy also got his fifteen minutes of fame, with various media outlets picking the story up – you can also get the full story in the press here

Who doesn’t love a bit of fame, hey? Yesterday we launched the pilot episode of NEG VERSUS, a show where Neg pretty much takes on the world with pranks, surprises, and the occasional bouts of nudity. This week saw him surprise Peaches Geldof – and the video attracted quite a bit of attention in the news. The story was picked up by a stack of different news outlets, some notables being MSN , Metro , and The Sun .

Check out the articles, as well as the NEG VERSUS group page to view the entire episode…And see below for a clip of us on msn.co.uk

We Made Big Neill Even Bigger

February 4th, 2009

Dearest bragsters,

We hope that over time you have learned that we’ll do pretty much anything we think is funny. More often than not, you also think we’re funny, so this is a mutually beneficial arrangement. Case in point: we asked you to post pictures of you doing funny poses and then we projected the winner on the Tate Britain.

Neill deserved to get himself up on a museum wall, don’t you think?

Spend Bertrand's Bling!

December 3rd, 2008

Hello All,

Some of you may have already seen the antics perpetrated by Bertrand last week, but for those who haven’t here’s a recap. Bertrand decided to solve the credit crisis all by himself, and projected his card onto a wall on High Street Kensington as well as the Bank of England in London. Some of you were lucky enough to get through and make some pretty cool purchases. Bertrand even managed to make it onto TV in Australia:

He’s got a lot to brag about, as the card made it into The Evening Standard, The Daily Mail and The London Lite! Keep an eye out for more action from bragsters near you!

Congrats to Crank!

It takes a lot of balls to create a viral ad that rings with any stinging impact these days, which is probably why Bragsters’ own Crank Juice Films hobbled away the winner of the Media Guardian Edinburgh International TV Festival Viral Competition this past weekend! Crank Juice’s video “Kicked in the Balls: None Left” took the wind out of the rest of the competitors to be crowned the victor after weeks of online votes.

In the video Crank Juice is relentlessly hammered in his jewels by a series of willing punters proving that a true ‘Bragster’ is one who can overcome a seemingly insurmountable challenge to prevail. So kudos to you young Jedi for using the force and absorbing it with your groin.

We always knew you were crazy Crank Juice, now we can see your nuts.

“Turn out is excellent and there is a real buzz going round. We have just had a group of 10 people turn up from Bragster.com.” Watch the video at Wales Online

“That is a website for people who dare each other to turn up and take part in challenging events, which this obviously is.” Read more at BBC News

The dark humour of Twisted TV is designed to tie in with the marketing strategy behind the new chocolate bar which is positioned as the “evil” offspring of the Crème Egg.

Cadbury will seed the clips on YouTube and online community Bragster.com.

The chocolate-maker will also launch a month-long competition on Bragster inviting consumers to upload their own “Twisted TV” footage for the chance to win a Nintendo Wii.

And we won!

April 16th, 2008

You might remember that we mentioned being a Red Herring 100 finalist a couple of weeks ago, well now we can confirm that we won! We’re in awesome company with some incredible companies that were also chosen, and we can’t wait to keep making bragster better and better!

We’d love to hear what YOU think we should do to improve our already super sweet site, so make sure to drop us a line whenever you get a chance.

Sorry we've been so quiet for the last couple of weeks, but it's cause we've been busy with a capital B. We were selected to present at Plugg.eu in Belgium, so we sent our fearless leaders, Wim and Bertrand, to bring a little of the Bragster-tude to Belgium. Oh, and they brought it. Here's the vid (thanks Robin!):

Despite throwing pie EVERYWHERE, they got to the final three, and we eventually came in second! We don't normally support being second best, but the winner, Viewdle, is ex-KGB technology at it's finest. And, if that wasn't cool enough for you, we've also been selected as a finalist in the Red Herring 100.

What does that mean? Don't know, but it makes us sound really cool and important. Just kidding, I do know what it means. It means that out of all of the tech start-ups in all of the vast lands of Europe, The Middle East and Africa, we're in the top 200. We'll let you know if we've made it to the top 100 once it's announced. And if you want to keep up with us all day, everyday, then follow us on Twitter.

“The Red Herring has released it list of top 100 Tech startups in Europe and they include a number of UK firms. Among the list (and I may have missed some) is blinkBox, Bragster, Miomi, mydeco, Mydeo, Refresh Mobile, Rummble, Silobreaker, SportsDo, StrategyEye, T5M, Taptu, Webjam, Wonga, Zebtab, Zemanta, Trampoline Systems and Zygo Communications.”

Take a look at the rest of Mike’s article.

“Since 1996, technology industry executives, investors, and strategists have valued the Red Herring 100 lists as an instrument for discovering and advocating the most promising private ventures. “

WE ARE AWESOME! But you already knew that. Take a look at the rest of the finalists on Red Herring.
